Solid performer

Strengths: Very good performance, relatively low noise

Weakness: Big and heavy, price

One very good looking and fast board. Even though it can be quite loud, nTune allows to lower the noise for routine work. Everything look very smooth running on this board paired with Dell 2407WFP. The only one complaint is you can have trouble to put this board in packed case due to length of the board. In my case I should to rearrange hard drives.

Very Close to 8800 GTX Performance for $100 Less

Strengths: Blazing fast. Free Crysis. Quiet. When paired with a Quad Core processor, runs Company of Heroes & Crysis DirectX 10 at 1280x1024 High Quality at playable frame rates, requires only 1 power connector

Weakness: Expensive. Takes up 2 slots. SLI can be troublesome (and not worth the money) without the right motherboard/power supply.

512MB of video memory. Cooler than an 8800 GT (which was my 1st choice but was hard to find). Running Vista Ultimate with no problems. Installation was a snap. Was short enough to fit in my Antec Sonata III (I would've had problems if I got the GTX) and didn't need to upgrade the 500W power supply that I had. With a free copy of Crysis and $20+ rebates going around, this is a way better deal than...

Better than the 8800GT, but $60 more

Strengths: Quieter that the GT, 3DMark 12K. Factory Overclocked Core 670Mhz (MWave has it posted as 650Mhz).

Weakness: Still not really quiet, runs 78C when playing Crysis, Idle is 57C.

After RMAing the MSI 8800GT, I went with this card. My 3DMark went up about 500 over the GT(from 11.5K to 12K) not the big increase I thought I would see. The cards fan noise is much more tolerable than that of the GT and it seems to runs a little smother. I can't run Crysis at 1920x1200 on high settings, but it performs very well on Medium. I plan on getting another for SLi soon. Maybe then I...

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 512 review

Unlike the 8800 GT, this new speed bumped card should be shipping in quantities already and meet its intended price, or so we hope!
