The Best of the mid - range cards!

Strengths: Powerful, quiet and cool. Only takes up one slot. Nearly the same performance as the next level up for $100 less.

Weakness: Early runs of this card had fan problems.

If you spend a lot of time playing computer games this is the video card you've been waiting for. The Geforce 8800GT gives your computer the better graphics performance than the cards that are still selling for $150 more today. The fan on this card is quiet and keeps the card around 60C in my machine which is very good considering how much junk I have in there. And the frame rates I get in games...

Simply amazing until i found out about the fan...

Strengths: Good card, runs crysis at high settings with no problems. This card will last for a while and great bang for your bucks

Weakness: The fan, When is nvidia going to fix the 29% fan speed bug!!

www.guru3d.com/article... This above link will save your life if you have a fan problem, it took me 5 crashes to finally say wtf is going on with my card to find out that the fan isn't working correctly so I researched and found a way to fix it for now by modifying my own profiles for fan. The guide is user friendly and anyone should be able to do it if they follow the steps. Save your money and...

Great performance, excellent warranty, questionable...

Strengths: Excellent warranty. Good support. Stock overclock

Weakness: Older versions have a small cooling fan and possibly BIOS-controlled fan speeds that may be inadequate. Heat vents out into the computer case.

The BFG 8800 GT is just like any other 8800 GT. It's an excellent performer and a good value for the money provided that you don't overpay. Of course, with the BFG brand you receive an excellent warranty and good support, which makes it very preferable to most other brands. However, be warned that the initial batches of 8800 GT's from almost all of the board partners that followed nVidia's...

One of the hotter videocard bargains of 2008

Strengths: Suddenly affordable power for nearly any current game

Weakness: Single slot cooling is acceptable but could be better

Sometime in 2008, the release of next-gen video card chips by both nVidia and ATI caused the unnaturally high price of these cards to suddenly fall through the floor. A hundred bucks or so (usually after rebate) for this much power was completely unprecedented in the past. Dropped a pair of these into a home-built system---my god, what a barn burner. Crysis---pwned. Bioshock---beaten into...

Strong performer for cost

Strengths: No problems with drivers like what I had to go through with ATI 850XT.

Weakness: None.

I am using this videocard to run my home theater PC. It pushes a Lite-on Blue ray disc player smoothly. (no frame hangups etc). I am running it in an Antec 900 case which has ample cooling so it stays cool. It ran fine with an AMD opteron 170 (dual core). I upgraded to an Intel E8500 and it is even more responsive. I'm very happy for this card at $130 after rebate.

BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2

Strengths: Performance, single slot design

Weakness: Heat, fan noise

This is the GeForce 8800GT OC2 version, so has a higher clock than the regular OC version. The performance is pretty good for Gears of War and Crysis. The single slot design allows you easily to have a SLI configuration. However, it has a small fan (the original NVIDIA reference design fan), so it runs quite hot and noisy. I use RivaTuner to control the fan speed to 50% to 60% and the temperature...

GeForce 8800 GT Video card

Strengths: very powerful overclocking,

Weakness: but when you using oc they come out too much hot, so i command someone need to buy extra heatsink if u wanna oc

that card is great, and i catch good deal to upgrade my old video card, i spend only $125 after all rebate and coupon. if someone want to buy that card is good time to take it. it can play crysis in the highest level. trust me, go over buy it.

BFG 8800GT 512 OC

Strengths: warranty, easy to overclock, easy to find, single slot card

Weakness: fan speed set at 29%, noisy with increased fan speed

I have my card overclocked to 700/1750/2000 without trouble with the help of rivatuner to adjust fan speeds. This card has the fan locked at 29% and will run hot if you overclock it without rivaturner to adjust fan speeds and is very easy to do. BFG has come out with a new bios for this card on there website to address the fan speed issue but I have not installed it to try it out. For people who...

Great card!

Strengths: Best performance for price out there

Weakness: none

a great graphics card for anyone that is a serious gamer. Best performance in its class. right now this card cant be beat. i love it. can play all games with high settings but im sure that wont last very long as games become more complex. highly recommended.

Great Card

Strengths: Beats my old 8800gts 320mb

Weakness: Runs hot, fan doesn't work right on it's own.

As mention in a previous post, there seems to be a problem with the automatic fan speed on this card. I even flashed to a new bios available from bfg, but still doesn't work. I just use ntune to manually increase the fan speed when I play games, and it works just fine. Kinda loud fan, I hope the newer ones will be more silent than this.

GeForce 8800 GT OC review

The new GeForce 8800 GT is not only considerably faster than the 8800 GTS, but amazingly it is also much cheaper.
