Slimmer is Better

Strengths: + smaller + built in network adapter + less noisy + much cooler than original

Weakness: - heats up quickly - not compatiable with Sony's PS2 hard-drive - some 3rd party stuff won't work with this

The new slim PS2 is a must buy for those that don't already own a PS2. This new slimmer version of the PS2 is space efficient and is much quieter than it's predecessor. It also comes with a built in network adapter for online play. My only complaint with the slim PS2 is that my 3rd party multi tap was not compatible with it. In conclusion those looking to buy a new PS2, or upgrade their old...

Slim = The Win!

Strengths: Size, Built-in network adapter. The size of this product is the big plus. Can sit horizontillay or vertically, and will probably be the most inconspicuous thing in your entertainment center.

Weakness: None unless you want a built in Hard drive. If you want to play FFXI you might have to use the older models which allow Hard Drives. This is one game though. Who cares?

Great console at a great price. By far the largest library of games, plus the PS1 library, there are so many must-have titles. This model is a lot smaller then the previous versions. It has to be seen in real life. It is slightly larger than a DVD case. I have a GC, PS2, X-Box, and a PC. They are all great in their own way. If I'd have to choose a console it would be PS2 solely on the library. If...

Sony Slim Playstation 2 Console with Controller

Strengths: Sleek Design, Ultra Quiet, Compact and good price. Has all the features of the larger Playstaion 2 (backwards compatibility with Playstation One Games, Built-in DVD player) at half the size.

Weakness: None (except the lack of support for HDD (hard drive)which only a couple games support and for the majority of gameplayers this is a non-issue.)

I like this model better than the bulky model that was released orginally. For those with a limited amount of space this model is ideal and is slightly larger than a DVD case. I noticed an improvement in this model in that it is VERY quiet. There is a built-in fan but you can barely hear it. I noticed slightly faster load times as well (though not as such a big difference that is very noticable)....

PS2 Slim

Strengths: Smaller, quieter, built-in network port and IR receiver

Weakness: No support for hard drive, new multi-tap required, external power adapter

This is a great improvement over the previous version in terms of size and design. It really is the size of a DVD case and that makes it much more portable (I take it on long business trips). Much of the reduction of size and noise is from removing the dc transformer outide the unit - it now has a power brick. I wouldn't rush out and buy one if you have a working PS2 unless you want it for...

PlayStation 2 Black Slim Console w/ Controller

Strengths: It is very small and fast just as good as it's brother!

Weakness: The only problems i had was when i played for over 4 or 5 hours it got very hot!

All in all it is the best i have played. I really like how it has built in ethernet in it. I would buy this over the old playstation 2 any day. I also would very much recommend this to any one.

Slim Ps2

Strengths: Looks cool ,dosnt need a network adapter, Small.

Weakness: Sometimes owerheats.

This new PS2 is the best. Its way smaler then any other console thats made for home use. It plays DvDs ,CDs and PS2 games. Nislly desighned and I like that it has a ir resiver built in so you dont need to take up a controller port to use the DvD remote. I found that sometimes after a week of being on it overheats. Overall its the best.

Slimline Playstation2

Strengths: Very small size, reduced price, amount of games

Weakness: None

This is the second Playstation2 that I have bought. The first one was the original version, it lasted 5 years before my kid dropped it and the laser stopped working. This new slimline version is remarkably small, it's the size of a small hardcover book. I could not believe the size difference between the first one. It plays all the games the original one did so there was no compatibility issues....

A Must Buy

Strengths: Cool slim design, good price, built-in DVD player

Weakness: None

With the cool slim design and low price, I can not resist it. This slim PS2 system is the first vedio game system I have purchased. I am totally satisfied with it. It is fast and quiet. It also has a built-in DVD player. I hope that the DVD player remote control was included. It does not have built-in hard drive, but I do not need it. It is a must buy for yourself or as a gift. Highly recommended.

Sony PS2

Strengths: Quality of CD (Through Optical out) and DVD (Using S-Video) is excellent for price tag.Quieter operation on Latest Model,More Relaible

Weakness: Graphics on Games are good but are starting to look dated now

Earlier versions of this console were flawed with laser alignment problems, however Sony always replaced console for me within 24-48hrs which really takes some beating. The latest model is less likely to suffer the same problems and is not as noisy in operation. On the whole this Console provides excellent value for money when considering what it can do.There are DVD only machines that are...
