Awesome TV

Strengths: QAM tuner, loads of inputs (VGA, HDMI, composite, component & others).

Weakness: only 720p (accepts 1080i)

So I finally decided to jump into the HDTV bandwagon. The price was right: $540 (with tax) for a 37" wide-screen HDTV definitely made it a great buy. In fact, I bought two (another for my brother). The picture quality is absolutely stunning, and I sit about 6-8 feet away. As a plus it doubles as a computer monitor, and runs at resolution of 1360x768. I bought a long VGA cable, RCA cable, and...

Nice TV

Strengths: excellent HD picture, no overscan, good value

Weakness: menu system, limited setup adjustments, ATSC tuner performance, PIP access

I've had my 237T for about six months and I'm quite satisfied with its overall performance. With some tweaking, the picture quality with HD sources is outstanding. I especially like the set's ability to display images with no overscan. The color temperature selection is limited to two choices, but I find that the "Native" setting looks fine to me. The backlight adjustment is limited to three...

best value for your money for a 37" LCD

Strengths: low price, QAM tuner, lots of connectors

Weakness: poor on screen menus, wall mounting isn't really an option, somewhat weak at displaying dark scenes

This TV is a great value for your money, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a big LCD for a reasonable price. All-around it works great, HD content looks amazing. I even hooked it up to use a PC monitor for a little while, that was fun to try out. DVDs and games look great on it. There is really no reason to pay nearly twice as much for a famous name brand TV of the same size. A...

Olevia 237T LCD TV

Strengths: Great picture, price

Weakness: on screen menus are confusing, hard to understand.

I have owned a 32" Olevia LCD TV for about a years, very good picture quality for the price range. I bought this TV at target.com before BF on sale for $549.00 with coupon code for 10% off so my total bill tax included was $534.00 + Free shipping. You can't beat that! It is very good so far, would purchase again with this price range. Edit: The build-in HD tuner can unscrambled some comcast...

Very nice, especially for the price!!

Strengths: Great HDTV Picture quality, Incredible value, multitude of inputs, looks, on-site warranty.

Weakness: Mediocre SD Picture quality (but not worse than other similar brands), hard to remove base, limited VESA mount options, setup menu options that don't work, remote is a bit blah.

Picked this up on the pre-Black Friday Target.com deal. Was a great deal with free shipping. I have been messing with it for the past couple days, and here is my initial impression: The HDTV picture quality is very good, even when compared to more expensive brands. I am getting HD signal via QAM over cable. I watched a movie on Universal HD, and the quality was simply stunning. SD quality leaves...

Budget LCD...I think NOT!

Strengths: picture, price, picture, picture, picture

Weakness: picture adjustments, zoom (set levels), tuner, remote, asthetics, weight?, Customer Service?

Okay, this is not the "best" looking LCD out there aesthetically. However, if you are looking for a REALLLY good picture at a REALLLY good price, look no further. Probably, the best BANG for your BUCK. Specs: 720p 36.7"x27.4"x5.6" (w/o stand) ~50 lbs (w/o stand) built in ASTC/NTSC/QAM tuner 2 HDMI ports Composite Component S-video VGA Picture-in-Picture 1600:1 contrast (awesome for the price) 8...

Awesome TV!

Strengths: Great picture quality; two HDMI inputs (on certain models); LG Panel (on certain models); great value for the price

Weakness: Slow to turn on; black levels could be deeper; remote is cheap looking; hassle to switch between inputs

Having owned this TV since Black Friday, I can say without a doubt that it is one of the nicest looking "cheap" sets out there. It's got great picture quality and HD content looks absolutely amazing on it. The amount of inputs available for use is simply awesome. The casing is a bit on the chunky side, but aside from that it is aesthetically pleasing. The only drawbacks I find for the set is its...

Excellent TV!

Strengths: - Amazing display - Reasonably priced - Plays both NTSC and PAL format

Weakness: - Thickness - No PIP on remote

We got this TV on Black Friday for just over $500 which is a good deal for a 37" LCD. I already have a 32" Element (rebadged Polaroid) but the 37" upgrade - Olevia is definitely better. I had to do bare minimum adjustments to the picture, the default settings are already pretty good. One important criteria for me was that the TV should work on both NTSC and PAL format (if I ever want to take this...

Great HDTV for the price

Strengths: Unbelievable price, many connections, wonderful picture quality

Weakness: Lone time to switch channels

Bought it for only $500 on black friday sale from target online with free shipping. It looks smaller and lighter than my another syntax 37" LCD HDTV bought 3 years ago for $799+tax. It also has more connections which I love the most, I can connect a lot of things including computer to it. The picture quality is about the same though.

Incredible TV. Best Bang for your buck this year.

Strengths: Nice Contrast and color. Dark gray bezel. LED power light goes off when watching TV. 2 HDMI's! Very noticable upgrade from 32". Fast menu switching. Impressive amount of input choices. Just Love it!

Weakness: Rather thick for an LCD. SD content distorts on the right side vertical distortion. Screws on bezel too tight, I have a white blotch in the lower left corner.

I am replacing my 32" Element TV from last year and wow what an upgrade! Movies seem more movie like with larger screen. Colors are improved and contrast is much better. The menu switch is much faster. More inputs is great. I love this TV and for the same price as last years 32". Minor negatives both are fixed with a little tweaking. Like loosening the screws on the bezel to keep it from...
