eVGA 7950 GX2

Strengths: Fast, lifetime warranty

Weakness: Big (takes up 2 slots)

This is a very fast card. If you're willing to shell out the money you'll get a built-in SLI card with 1GB of memory. My motherboard doesn't support SLI so I can't add a 2nd card to get quad-SLI (though with the next generation cards coming out soon maybe that won't be an issue). The card is very big so make sure you have a lot of room in your case and your power supply can handle this. The evga...

Great card, but make sure you have enough power to...

Strengths: Fast, quiet, powerful

Weakness: Power hungry

This is a great card if you don't have an SLI capable motherboard (or are running an Intel setup). Make sure you have enough power to run it. I had a 550 watt 30 amp dual 12v rail unit that wouldn't run this card. It requires continuous 36 amps of power. I recommend the PC Power and Cooling 850 SSI if you are running an Intel setup (like me). Otherwise, it is unbridled graphics performance if you...

Great card. eVGA has the best warranties

Strengths: Performance, warranty

Weakness: Power requirements

This is a great card, but it has high power requirements. eVGA has the best LIFETIME warranty! I initially got a bad card, but eVGA cross-shipped me a replacement, and even sent a free shipping label in the box. Totally hassle-free and no cost to me. Try doing that at a retail store or with another manufacturer.

Great performance

Strengths: Top notch performance

Weakness: evga has so-so build quality lately

evga has had manufacturing problems lately. Some users are getting bum cards. This 7950 I just put in has a bad transducer. I had to superglue the coils after researching what the buzzing noise during 3d operation was coming from. Not a big deal to fix but not expected on a near $600 card.

7950

Strengths: great card

Weakness: none yet that i see

recommend for everyone. Awesome graphics. Good refresh rate. Have not had one problem yet. Just plug and play. Had ati before and does not compare to this monster of a card.

The Lifetime Warranty is Deceptive advertising EVGA...

Strengths: WAS A GREAT CARD UNTIL ONE OF TWO BROKE DOWN

Weakness: BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT

I had a pair of these, as I figured I couldn't go wrong with a lifetime warranty. They were part of a gaming system built for me by a local computer shop. 1st it took them 6 months to come up with a Vista-64 SLI configuration that actually worked. Then at the 2year mark one of the Cards failed. Now I'm stuck with an over blown SLI mother board with one obsolete 7950 GT. My warranty was denied due...

Sweet card, even without DX10

Strengths: handles max settings on Half Life 2

Weakness: Requires more amp power supplies

I had a 630W power supply that worked with this card. I went for a 550W power supply and it would not run this card. Other reviews have mentioned total amps, but what really matters is the +12V amps. The eVGA site says you need 28A, but 26A worked fine on a quiet 630W power supply. I tried half life 2 and even with highest settings, it didn't break a sweat. I haven't found anything this card...

Gear Card

Strengths: Great video card for the money, play any game smoothly and it has nice chrome heat pipes.

Weakness: too big to fit into a smaller case

Why buy two 7900GX 512M for SLI, it end up with more money than just buy one 7950 1G version. The Evga upgrade program is also attractive for future upgrade.
