XFX GeForce 9800GT 512MB PCI-E video card

Strengths: Good performer; nVidia fanboy; single-slot card; perhaps bundled game; lifetime warranty

Weakness: ATI probably makes better performer

nVidia makes so many cards with confusing model numbers, that it is hard to figure them all out! First off, this is pretty much equivalent to a 8800GT 512MB (G92 chipset) video card. It's a die-shrink, so consumes less power and doesn't produce as much heat. I like that it is a single-slot card, so doesn't take up alot of space. It's also not overly long, so fit's in most cases. While the ATI 4850 get's ALOT HOTTER in temperature than this card, it's also ALOT HOTTER in performance! :-) It's also more expensive, but not by a huge margin anymore with the recent price drops. Be sure and fine a card that is bundled with a cool video game. Mine came with Call of Duty 4, and it plays perfectly with this card!

Be sure and register the card on the XFX web-site within the first month in order to get their lifetime warranty.

sickness

Strengths: single slot, 4oo watt psu, cool design, cheap

Weakness: umm...cant think of any besides my old p4 processer kinda holds back its potential.

I was going to buy the geforce 9600 gso but when I saw this was only a bit more a couldnt resist, plus it came with 2 fifty dollar games at newegg.
