excellent card, as soon as the price drops, it will...

Strengths: Awesome performance in Crysis, BF2, Bioshock. Relatively quiet fan, good temparature. Great overclocker

Weakness: No HDMI-input LONG CARD

Upgraded to the 8800gt 512mb from my previous card, which was a 7900gt ko (over clocked edition with copper heat sink), also made by eVGA. What an increase in performance, with no other change. The 8800GT dominates in any game I've tried to play. Although it was a pretty good chunk of change, I'm glad I purchased it and would definitely recommend the card to anyone looking for an upgrade from a 7-series upper end card.

Good value for money

Strengths: Runs current games great, takes up only one slot

Weakness: Card is a little long, fan runs loud

This is a pretty popular graphics card and the price is constantly increasing, if it isn't sold out.

As expected, it runs current games great. It meets or exceeds recommended system specifications for all current games, so that's expected.

It takes up one slot, not like the higher-end cards which use dual-slot coolers, which is good for SLI or small mobos.

Unfortunately, the card is a bit long. Together with the power connector at the end, it effectively eliminates one drive bay from my mid-tower case.

The card's fan is also probably the noisiest fan in my case. The 8800GT series runs hot, and the stock cooler doesn't really help things. Remember to get the latest BIOS from the EVGA forums if you've purchased your card some time ago. New cards have the updated BIOS which helps the temperatures a little. Alternatively, you can void your warranty and try an after-market cooler.

This card is good value for money, especially for SLI systems, and I highly recommend it.

Good Midrange Card

Strengths: Performance for a good price is hard to beat. Running World of Warcraft with max settings I get 60 fps everywhere except Shattrath where I get 50.

Weakness: The card is thin, but long. Just barely fit my huge Antec P182 case.

The most I ever paid for a video card, but the performance I get out of it is worth every penny. Make sure the rest of your components won't bottleneck your performance.

Great upgrade from the 7 series.

Strengths: - great performance - a lot cheaper than the GTS or GTX - fairly quiet for a high-end card (improved 15-blade fan as opposed to the 13-blade fan in the original reference design)

Weakness: - still difficult to find at a price below MSRP - long card, resulting in a tricky installation - not DX 10.1 compatible

Before I purchased this 8800gt, I was using a 7900gt. The performance increase was incredible. In all of my games (flight simulator x, team fortress 2, dark messiah, crysis, need for speed pro street, etc.) my frames per second have increased twofold, if not threefold, at settings higher than those I've been using before.

The card is also a lot quieter, and cost less than what I bought my 7900GT for, only 1-2 years ago. It was a bit of a hard fit during installation in my Antec Solo case, but there were no complications. I was also able to overclock it about 5% without problems - haven't tried higher than that yet.

I highly recommend this card for any hardcore gamer, who is still on a budget, and can't afford a G92 8800GTS or 8800GTX. Those cards only offer marginally more performance anyways, for a lot more money.

Great Video Card

Strengths: scored a perfect score in Vista Ultimate 64-Bit

Weakness: should have bought sooner. Demand is so high they have raised msrp

Great card for the money. I'am not running SLI so this card was the perfect one if you want to save a little cash. It's hard to find in stock so you might need to buy directly from EVGA.

Great Price/Performance

Strengths: Very fast card, allows me to finally utilize my 20 inch 1680x1050 monitor! Card is almost as fast as 8800GTX but for like 1/2 the price! Maxes out most games (excluding Crysis)

Weakness: Left me with a slightly lighter wallet but well worth it. Playable frame rates in Crysis but wish it was a bit higher although was expected

I definitely recommend this graphics card to anyone in need of good performance for a good price! I came from a 7600gt and the difference is night and day. It is a wonderful feeling to play Call of Duty 4 maxed out at 1680x1050. If you are thinking about buying it, I say do it.

Great video card for a beginner or expert

Strengths: Ease of installation. Quality and reliability.

Weakness: Big card

Tried to install on an older mother board but would not boot up the video. Updated the bios and still no go. Googled the motherboard and found that it did not support the Ge Force. Now using the card on Abit pro 35. Works like a charm with a
bump of overclocking. No problems so far. No issues with being loud. This is my first expensive video card and I am glad I bought it. You will be happy with this card so buy it.

Good Product

Strengths: Very good video card for the money! I was torn between this one and it's larger sibling but price won out in the end.

Weakness: size of the video card. external power required.

Great buy! Great Customer service from EVGA. I had an issue installing the card and a 110mm CPU fan the same day. Ended up crippling my mobo. At first I thought it was the card but I was wrong. EVGA did help ALOT, including offering to replace / upgrade for more. wound up replacing the mobo and keeping the card. It runs beautifully but I can't imagine running two of the beasts!

Wonderful bang for the buck!

Strengths: Great speed, features, and quiet fan.

Weakness: Not the overclocked version and not the fastest GPU offered by NVIDIA.

First things first, with the 8800 GT prices now falling sub-$200, this is a great time to pick one of these up! The performance is absolutely incredible. I am able to play Crysis at high settings without even breaking a sweat! This is coming from a 6600 GT where I was barely able to get by with low settings. In addition, the fan is relatively quiet and I really don't hear it all. If you have to get the fastest on the market, then of course the GTS would have this beat. However, for the money, you can't get a better deal. Even more, you can always add on another down the road for SLI performance once these drop in price further. As for the overclocking issue, you can always add a different cooler and overclock yourself, but I don't think that will be needed anytime soon, at least for me ;).

GeForce 8800 GT review

The new GeForce 8800 GT is not only considerably faster than the 8800 GTS, but amazingly it is also much cheaper.
