The Samsung 22" monitor is a beautiful display for the price. The image is rich and clear, and more screen real estate than you'd ever need for daily computer usage (a good thing). That and the quick 5ms response time makes it perfect for games, especially shooters. I had previously been using a dual monitor setup with two 17" CRTs but this monitor by itself easily replaces both of them.
There's only one problem--just be careful when you move the monitor around your desk. The way the neck is set up, you can't really grip the monitor anywhere without awkwardly supporting the base with your other hand. The first time I lifted it by the neck alone, the locking pin slipped out and I thought the thing was gonna snap. It's a minor problem though, and once you set it up on your desk you have a great display that will make your friends jealous.

Strengths: Good value, bright, sharp, good menu option and color controls, useful software calibration tool
Weakness: Limited input options, too bright for photo editing
I purchased this monitor during an after Thanksgiving sales to replace my Apple 20" CRT.
Initially, I had a bit of trouble with my video card configuration. Image was stretched side way for the extra width. After I installed the monitor driver (you have multiple choices between digital/analog) and selected the correct resolution settings, everything works great.
My first impression of this monitor was WOW! This monitor is very bright. In a sense I think it is too bright for photo editing. I tried to tune it down so that I can match my printed photo to the screen output. Even at the lowest setting, the picture on the screen still look brighter than my printed copy.
This monitor is sharp. I used its highest resolution setting, and can comfortably read text at small font size. I also enjoyed viewing picture slide show with this monitor. It was a treat. :-)
This monitor came with a software monitor calibration tool that allows you to build a color management profile for the monitor. I think it is a decent tool, and you would likely to use it if you are a serious about photo editing.
I do have an issue with this monitor. When I use its DVI input, sometimes the monitor will lose the signal and unable to display anything. It happened to me a few times after I viewed a video clip or DVD movie at full screen mode. This problem may be related to my video card, instead of the monitor. At this time, I have not isolated the problem.
Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

Sweetheart, it's the paper that has to match the screen, not the other way round. Why do you think professional photo labs use such a thing as color profile?
Weakness: Some backlight leaking. The color is not the best
Generally speaking the monitor is satisfactory -- it's the cheapest monitor of its size and performance on the market. The bigest advantage -- it's big! Yeah yeah I know you are ready to boast about your 30'' LCD but man you know I'm a poor student and the cheap price of this item just fit my budget. Some issues with it: it has some backlight leaking problem. Not serious but noticeable. No big deal for me because I don't use it to display dim background anyway.

Excellent picture quality as I had upgraded from 17" monitor. I was happy to see there was no dead pixel. Also very reasonably priced. I Would highly recommend to everybody.

Strengths: Great contrast and brightness. Of course, the large screen real-estate helps.
Weakness: Difficult to adjust the height and angle, and not a lot of input options.
I really have no regrets about getting this to replace my Dell ultrasharp 18" LCD. The screen size is a large step forward. Text and photo are both sharp. Video gaming on this beast shows no signs of ghosting. Also, one problem I've had with dell monitors is the light bleeding on the edge when the screen is black. No worries here, the black is rich and uniform, no distracting streak of light when viewing in letterbox mode.

Strengths: fast response, high contarst ratio, nice looking
Weakness: none
I love this monitor. It is very bright, good colors and looks nice on the desk. The height is adjustable so is the angle. I got it for a price of a 20" in after thanksgiving sale and I cannot be happier about it.

The Samsung 22" monitor is quick response, bright and clear. It's widescreen is very good from form processing to entertainment. One problem is the stand is loose, need to be taken care of when moving, but it's nothing compare to the $350 price.

Strengths: Quick response time for gaming, DVI interface, HUGE Screen, Built-in preset calibrations.
Weakness: None I cam think of.
This is a beautiful monitor. The installation was simple. The included CD/Software lets you adjust the settings without having to touch the monitor controls. The picture is crystal clear (using my DVI-DVI interface and 512MG Video Card). This monitor is a must-buy for anyone looking for a widescreen. Also, DVD movies look great on it as well. Highly Recommend it.

Strengths: Great image quality
Very good construction
Weakness: Doesn't rotate to portrait mode
I am very happy with this monitor, as I've been with every Samsung monitor I've owned. The build quality is what you'd expect, picture quality is great, and the 3 year warranty offers peace of mind. Don't hesitate.

Strengths: Great color, wideopen space, game (UT2004) support and price can't be beat!
Weakness: Text could be sharper, like the address in Internet Explorer but you get used to it after a while.
This beats the pants off my Samsung 19" becuase of it's wide screen! put this thing 16" from my face and play a game or R/C simulator (FSone, Relaflight G3) and it is so much better than a 19" LCD. I might buy at least one more for another PC that I have. (I hve 15 all on a LAN at home)
Game night is comming soon!

Strengths: Very bright display, great screen size, easy to use interface.
Weakness: N/A so Far
This is a great monitor for single and or dual screen use. The menu quick adjust button and display brightness is powerful and is easy to use. I would highly recommend this screen to all.

Strengths: Lots of viewable realestate to go around. Images and games play crystal clear and with no ghosting.

5ms for gamers is hard to beat and with an even better holiday price tag I had just pick it up. I had a Samsung 21' CRT before this, and it's nice having more room around the desk to keep down the clutter. I highly recommend this LCD, especially is you can find it for under 350 like I did.

Actually, I was aiming for a Westy 22" at BB on the BF deal. I arrived there early but they were all sold out. So with despair and a "broken heart". I went to CC and found this lovely monster, just one left sitting in the aile. And the price, $10 more AR/AC + tax. I'd definitely take a Sammy than a Westy.

Weakness: Limited connectivity (although many video card manufacturers now include adapters with their product)
I love it. I bought this at Best Buy a week ago for $349.99. It's huge for the price (most 24" monitors going for double the price) and with the 5 ms response time, it rivals a lot of the competition. The only drawback is the VGA and single DVI input. Looks great with Battlefield 2!

Strengths: Great quality display, No dead pixels (points) till now; Easy control buttons; Adjustable height and angel for display purpose;
Weakness: Can not rotate to portrait display; make sure your video card is "supportive" for it.
I bought this about a month ago from Circuitcity. I should say this LCD is really good. As a Samsung display (usually, it will be at least a little bit more expensive than its counterparts), it did not make people down by showing the excellent quality of display. The color is great. Till now, I did not find some dead pixels on it. Movies will be automatically played with the full screen mode.
It is easy to install it on your computer. But make sure that your video card can support this. I thought I can use this one as the main display for my laptop, for it has become much less bright than before. But the laptop does not support this one. The max resolution for the laptop is much lower than the standard display of this one. So, I had to buy a new desktop for it.
It has some control buttons down on the frame. It is easy to use them. But sometimes, my laptop cannot recognize it immediately when it is plugged in. But there is no problem for me to restart it or plug it in the desktop. Its height can be adjusted and you can also rotate it, but you can not rotate it to portrait display, which would be convenient if you read a long page of article or webpage. Except for these tinny problems, it really makes a excellent good display.

I got this screen after Thanksgiving at a great price, and I must say, what a deal! The size is enormous, really, but the quality is great and if I had a reason to, I'd love to get another one!

Weakness: SOME backlight bleeding on black screen. That is the only time it is noticeable
You will be VERY SATISFIED with this monitor...I searche long and hard for a widescreen 22" monitor that was in a decent price range. I shopped until I found a good deal on it. I promis you will be happy. OUTSTANDING picture and response time

Strengths: Good value for the price. Nice sharpness when used with DVI. Very good size monitor.
Weakness: Monitor cannot rotate to portrait setting. There is backlight leakage on top and bottom edges of screen but not noticeable when in use. Stand cannot pivot. No RCA or S-Video input jacks.
A 19 inch widescreen looks a bit awkward. A 22 inch widecreen is the most eye pleasing monitor that is also the most economical choice right now. My ATI AIW card does recognize the monitor driver well, and have to resort back to XP's own driver for the widescreen mode at max resolution.

Strengths: Nicely designed, a lot of monitor for the money. Lot of features, easy to alter screen preferences. Nice and bright...
Weakness: Nice as it is, I have to return it because I need a monitor that offers clarity and crispness and this doesn't have it.
The basic elements that a monitor should offer would be the ability to read your email, websites, etc. The print on this montitor is not as crisp as it should be. Probably fine for movies, pictures, games, etc. but the basic need to read my email without having to squint, is a primary concern for me.

So far this has been the best monitor I have used. At first the brightness on yellow and reds made it hard to read words in these colors but with a little adjustment everything works perfectly. Compared to my roommates 19" Viewsonic, this thing rocks.
I've hooked up at least a dozen of these to various Macs, all running OS-X, and they work beautifully with all of them. They don't need drivers. I haven't had any problem whatsoever with any of them and native resolution is supported.
If somebody had problems with needing drivers then possibly it was with very old Macs running OS 9. I havn't tried that so I don't know.
Purchased 4 at work, mac video cards dont support monitors native resolution. No mac drivers on disk or from samsung, only pc, so everything is streched and blurry. Watch out!
It's a great monitor, there's no denying that, but I misplaced the CD that came with it with the color management software and my nightmare began. Samsung has no clue what I'm talking about, they referred me to their 3rd party parts supplier saying they might be able to make a copy of the CD for me (have you ever heard such a thing?), of course their supplier doesn't have a clue of where the CD's are and they referred me back to Samsung. The software I need is not available on Samsung's website. Samsung says it is, I was on the phone with a manager for 45 minutes and he finally gave me a URL... well, turns out the URL was for something totally unrelated to the monitor. I spent hours playing telephone ping-pong and now I have a nice monitor with no way to control the settings.
If anyone has a copy of the CD please contact me.

Strengths: Great size, good value (I got it on sale for $199.99), response time is superb, picture quality and colors are spot on.
Weakness: Vertical viewing angles are lacking, Magictune software buggy, no extra inputs.
I bought two of these monitors on a Thanksgiving sale at Circuit City for a great price. Installation was quick and simple and there were no problems on anything. Performance is great, the picture is nice clean and clear with no lag and plenty of adjustments with Magictune (if it works that is).
Magictune, while a great concept, doesn't suit my system to well. For example, whenever I do something rather graphically intensive, such as watching a movie and doing some picture editing, Magictune has a runtime error and fails. When it is working I absolutely love it, I set my left monitor to the "Internet" setting, which is about 30% brightness 75% contrast and it is very easy on the eyes. While my right monitor I use for gaming or movies. The bad thing about magictune is that you cannot anything on the monitor, like the menu without using Magictune. A little hassle since the only functioning button on the entire monitor is the power button.
I also have problems with vertical viewing angles. With my table 3-4 feet off the ground and I sit down on the floor, light greys become blacks and other colors except for brights become darker. Not a problem, more of an annoyance when watching movies. Horizontal viewing angles are acceptable.
Overall this is a great monitor, whether you get one or two they both work flawlessly and have been functioning everyday for almost a year without problems.
Note: If you do get two monitors, I highly suggest "Ultramon" much much better than the Nvidia Nview stuff.
Also, perhaps it is just my computer's problem with Magictune. AMD X2 4600+, 2GB ram, EVGA 7800gt 256 dual DVI using XP pro.
I found a really good deal from 'slickdeals-net' on this monitor, and I have to say I have no regrets in buying this 22" 'economical' monitor!
I've been looking for a large LCD screen for a while, but the prices of good 22" monitors were pretty steep, until I came across this one.
The monitor itself is bright, crisp, clear and the option to set it to 1680 by 1050 is (and looks) fantastic! I'm also a gamer, and so far the
games I have played (Prey, RTCW, Half Life 2, Splinter Cell... etc.), all look great! I did notice the "backlight bleeding" (which everyone
feels compelled to mention), but that's only when booting up or in something that requires DOS mode, basically... it really doesn't bother
me at all. The bottom line is, if you can get this for under $300 (including taxes/shipping), then buy it!! it's well worth it!
Strengths: Good constrast, fast response, Analog/Digital inputs, swivel base
Weakness: None so far
I bought this for a good price after rebate during Thanksgiving and have enjoyed using it since then. I have another LCD monitor which is 20" and now even 20" LCD is not large or good enough for me. Picture is clear with good constrast. Adjustable pitch and swivel base made viewing angle adjustment very easy. I like its wide screen in particular because it allows 2 pages to be side by side without the fonts being too small. Having used this monitor for almost 3 months, it is very hard to go back to smaller screen LCD monitor.
