Project Gotham Racing 2 gets nicely upgraded from the original. The graphics get some nice upgrades, not that they were bad in the first place, but they're extremely well done now. The selection of cars is very impressive, with each one having their pluses and minuses.
The kudos system gets smoothed out a bit, and it makes the game extremely fun to play, since it's not just a hunt to get to the end of the race the fastest. It's important to get there as fast as possible and also with the most kudos.
Online multiplayer with XBox Live is where the game shines brightest. It's amazing fun to drive with up to eight people, without any lag or slowdowns, and makes the game have immense replay value.
For any driving fan, it's a must have, for the selection of cars, as well as a great reason to have XBox Live.

This has to be one of the best games for the XBox. It is certainly one of the best driving games. The graphics are phenomenal. Lots of cools cars to drive and the scenery and weather settings really add a nice sense of realism to the entire thing. Each car definitely has a different personality and you really have to pick the right car for the right race.

I liked the first Project Gotham, but the second is even better. I really like the Kudos system, it helps to keep me interested in the game, let's face it, driving around in circles can get boring after a while. Kudos are earned when you drive with style, like getting air, or sliding through a turn. I also like the medals you earn for completing a race at different difficulties. If you dig racing games, you should enjoy this one alot.

Strengths: excellent graphics, tons of cars to choose from, racing your friends on LIVE
Weakness: sometimes the AI controlled cars are very predictable in the lines that they drive
This is an excellent game. As a single player game, there are numerous courses and cars to choose from. It should take quite a while to complete all of the courses and unlock all of the cars. More importantly, this game is XBOX Live compatible, which means you can race against your friends online. This added bonus makes the game truly great and adds tons of replay value.

Strengths: Excellent audio, control, and graphics. Basically perfect.
Weakness: The only weakness is that Microsoft tried to charge $5 for the Downloadable content. That's a NO NO!
Project Gotham Racing 2 is the Halo 2 of racing games. It is the total package, online and off. The graphics sound and gameplay are all top notch. Microsoft set out to make a perfect racing game and they have acheived that goal. The only problem I had with the game was that the downloadable content was not free. Aside from that, the game is pretty much perfect. This is the game that the Gran Turismo series wishes it could be. A++

Microsoft Project Gotham Racing 2 is definitely one of the top 3 racing games available for the Xbox filing in nicely between Forza (sim like) and Burnout 3 (arcade like). The game has great graphics, soundtrack and controls. The kudos system is kind of strange as it favors you sliding around and doing doughnuts more than driving quickly, but it still doesn't take that much away from the game. Now that this is a platinum priced game, you must get this game if you like racing games.

Project Gotham Racing 2 is a great racing game where you have to race for kudos by driving insane and stylishly. There's different modes you have to play like racing and checkpoints. Great Xbox Live features with the scoreboard and online gameplay. For $20, this is a very good racer for the XBox.
I don't like racing games. Infact this is the first racing game I've ever played that I would deem as "good." I liked this one. The graphics are great, but the controls are simply the best ever in a racing game. Please buy this one, you won't regret it.

Weakness: Difficulty can overwhelm some in later stages. Not as many cars as Gran Turismo.
Project Gotham Racing 2 takes everything from the original game and kicks it up a notch. Online racing, more racing modes, better graphics, better sound, better handling. It takes an already great game and makes it the best racer on the Xbox.
PGR2 may not have the attention to detail or selection of cars that Gran Turismo has, but what it may lack when compared to GT is more than made up for in the gameplay. Racing is just fun in this game. You feel the car pull through the turn as you pass the competition, and it's a thrill like no other. It's not as mind-numbingly challenging as the first one, but you can be sure it won't stand by and hand you the trophies either.
PGR2 is the best racing game on the Xbox and possibly of this generation. If you enjoy racing at all and own an Xbox, you owe it to yourself to get this game.

One of, if not the, best online driving games for the Xbox. While Burnout 3 may offer a different level of excitement (because this game does little in the arena of crashes), PGR2 is what a pure arcade racer should be: large selection of cars, varied courses and a reward system that keeps you coming back. Each event, whether a one on one/group race, cone challenge, speed or timed challenge gives you points based on how well you raced, any tricks you did and at what difficulty level you completed the challenge. After the event is offer, it automatically uploads your score to see how you did against over 100k other drivers. This greatly increases the game length as you feel driven to keep getting a better score and work your way further up the boards. Being able to download the ghosts of top racers is a great bonus, but also highlights how out of whack the kudo system can be. Because point totals escalate as long you link tricks (keep the trick going), the best way to get points is often to drive ridiculously, power sliding back and forth or even spinning around in place so as to increase your points. You are not so much driving as well as possible as you are gaming the system. But a minor quibble.
While you lose the scoreboard element, and increased competition, if not online, the game still offers a huge amount of courses for the single player and kudo points are used to unlock a large number of cars. The computer ai can be challenging, but often will drive as if they were on an electronic track, predictably decelerating around turns in the exact same manner each time. Nothing that breaks the game, and only becomes very apparent after you have logged a lot of game hours.
If you are looking for a solid xbox racer, or wondering how to put your Live subscription to good use, PGR2 happily obliges.

This is probably the best racing game on the XBox. There are over a hundred cars to earn and a ton of tracks. The kudos system makes you drive stylish while driving fast. The cool radio stations are great and you can add your own custom music. This game is highly recommended.
